KaR Healthcare Technology database

The Knowledge and Research Programme (KaR) Healthcare Technology database aims to improve access to, and availability of, information relating to healthcare technology (including management practices) for healthcare delivery institutions and health professionnals in developing countries.  

The database contains:

  • Contact details for Organisations active in healthcare technology
  • Contact details for Manufacturers and Suppliers of medical equipment (currently mainly UK-based companies)
  • References for Publications relating to healthcare technology, including journals, books, articles, WHO publications, newsletters and electronic sources
  • References to Software packages which have been found useful in healthcare technology management

The Source bibliographic database gives references to over 20,000 health and disability information resources. The Source contacts database and the Source newsletters and journals database are also available online

The KaR Healthcare Technology database is a project funded by the Department for International Developmnt (DFID) as part of the Knowledge and Research (KaR) Programme in Healthcare Technology and Disability. The database production has been managed by GIC Limited with extensive co-ordination and co-operation with active players in the field of healthcare technology and particularly with the World Health Organization (WHO).
