www.dfid-engkar.org.uk 'More dissemination of research needed' 'More research and dissemination of existing information are needed if the overall quality of care to poor and disabled people in developing and transitional countries is to be improved significantly', according to Professor Andrei Issakov. Professor Issakov is Coordinator of Health Facilities and Services Provision, in the Department of Health Services Delivery at the World Health Organization. He is also the co-chair of the KaR Programme Advisory Group (PAG). He explains more in an article in issue 1 of the KaR Programme newsletter.
Poor countries to get free journals
Six major publishers of medical journals announced an agreement to give researchers in developing countries online access to their publications free or at sharply reduced prices. The agreement covers roughly 1000 of the world's top 1240 medical journals. http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/full/323/7304/0
