Description

The project aims to provide the first phase of a web-based "one-stop" reference, networking and support resource for healthcare technology management practitioners, focusing on the needs of practitioners in poorly-resourced countries around the world.

Outputs of the proposed project (the first phase of a larger project) will include developing the ICHTM (International Centre for HCT management) website core content with links to international, regional and national sites and resources; an electronic newsletter; accessory resources such as Glossary, "Best Practice" Guidelines and Policy Frameworks; and communication/ networking tools (discussion lists, electronic conferences, virtual seminars and mailing lists). A website team will ensure the sustainability of the site.

The project will complement and link up with the proposed project submitted to KaR by the AFTH (P37).

The IFMBE has experience in website development and HCT management information dissemination, and will be supported by an International Advisory Board comprising representatives of collaborating organisations such as WHO, PAHO, and the International Federation for Hospital Engineering (IFHE).

Budget £32,000 Proportion from KaR £30,000
