| Description |
The project aims to increase the efficiency, reach and impact of health information dissemination through the production and distribution to healthworkers in the South of free CD-ROMs containing training materials and information. The CD ROMs will contain copyright-free materials, have a search engine, include interactive features and will enable users’ feedback. TALC proposes to produce the following outputs: initial design and production of CD-ROMs covering the existing range of TALC paper-based publications, extension of the existing distribution network, establishment of a quarterly distribution system of CDs containing more “live” information (newsletters, specific needs, etc.), integration of NGOs’ and locally generated information and training material in contents. TALC
is a well-known organisation with very good credentials in information
dissemination. It will undertake this project in collaboration with ITHD
(Information Technology for Health and Development), which has broad
experience in the application of CD-ROM technology to training in
developing countries. |
