This
project seeks to field test the Access Portfolio which has been developed
by WHO DAR to improve the early identification of children with
disabilities so that appropriate interventions can be planned and
implemented. A particular focus is
on providing services where none currently exist.
This project will be implemented in ten areas in each of Uganda and
Sri Lanka. The project will include
adapting the portfolio, providing training in its use, collecting data and
assessing satisfaction with the portfolio.
WHO DAR will collaborate with a University in Sri Lanka and the
Ministry of Health in Uganda. WHO
DAR has been involved in developing the portfolio and has experience of
managing other similar problems. Dissemination
of learning is proposed through existing WHO channels.
